Southeast Seattle Makes Top Neighborhoods Lists
Our SE Seattle neighborhoods and restaurants are getting a lot of local buzz lately. As already mentioned, Seattle Magazine rated Columbia City as one of their best neighborhoods, and we even got the privilege of being on the front cover. Now Seattle Met has their list of the 20 Best Places to Live and they list both Beacon Hill and Mount Baker as great places to live, citing community feel and great views. Columbia City and Hillman City were listed as the places to be in five years, primarily because of the ongoing development around the Light Rail. In the restaurant world, Seattle Met included Bent Burgers, located in Seward Park, in their list of top burgers joints. And new vegetarian restaurant St. Dames, located in Rainier Vista, got a rave review as well.
It seems that every time I pick up a local magazine I’m reading about my little part of the city. Which, I admit, is making me feel smug. Don’t worry, I won’t let it go to my head. If you would like to come experience our part of the world, hop on the Light Rail and come enjoy our great restaurants and parks. One idea is to try the Plate of Nations event going on right now – but hurry! It ends this Saturday, April 9th.
