Where else, but in Southeast Seattle, could you go to a former fireworks factory turned nature preserve?  Now, when you get to Hitt’s Hill don’t expect to see any firework relics or anything like that, the three and a half acres have been completely transformed, thanks to Friends of Hitt’s Hill, into a peaceful wooded glen.  A perfect place for a quiet stroll, while you meditate on all the firework shows that  have happened over the decades, all over the world, thanks to the now defunct Hitt’s Fireworks Company.
