An animated look at the “Powerlessness of Positive Thinking”

April 29, 2011

I love sociology, psychology, philosophy, theology and pretty much anything else with “ology” at the end of it.  Lately I’ve been fascinated with these RSA Animation videos.  Being a left brain, right brain kinda guy I’m blown away by both the lectures and the illustrations.

In this particular video the illustrator creates a visual landscape for a lecture on the damage the so-called “Power of Positive Thinking” movement has created.  I don’t endorse everything stated by the lecturer but it certainly is food for thought.  There is a particularly good summary on the “keep it quiet” mentality that led to the sub-prime mortgage crash of 2007.

Give it a watch.  I’m sure you’ll be impressed as well.
