101 Things to Do in SE Seattle: #6 Beat Walk

May 5, 2011

Beat Walk is one of my favorite SE Seattle events, and it makes me glad to live here. During the summer months the first Friday is dedicated to an ecclectic line-up of fabulous musicians, playing in businesses throughout Columbia City.  Now in it’s 16th year, Beat Walk is an institution and testimony to what a group of neighbors with a good idea can do.  This is a family friendly event, pay a one time cover-charge of $7 (kids are free) and then roam the streets of Columbia City and pop in on live performances that range from jazz to brazilian guitar to blues to afro rock.  While your here be sure to have dinner in one of the 20+ restaurants.
