101 Things To Do in SE Seattle: #1 Children’s Playgarden
My family and I discovered a new (to us) playground. But this playground is unlike anyother – it is part garden, part pretend wonderland, and part playground. It truly has something for everyone. My son and I spent most of the time shooting hoops on the very nice court, while my daughter played house in a wooded play house complete with toy plates and cups, while my wife spent her time checking out the sustainable garden, chickens and green roof watering system. It is called the Children’s Playgarden and it’s mission is to be accessible to everyone, despite ability. Besides what I already mentioned, there is a playground suitable for the little ones, a large, climb-able “hill” called Mt Jordan, which includes a fun water feature. Down the steps and around the bend is a fort that some kids are building out of driftwood. There’s a pickup turned into garden. Next door is a baseball field. And to top it all off there are shrubs in the shapes of dinosaurs and teddybears having a picnic. Did I mention this place was fun?
